For jobless young Sowetans

Are you a jobless young person in Soweto with a matric qualification? If so, would you like to:

l Determine your own income?

l Know what it takes to start and run your own business?

l Work and learn with others in actually starting a business and make profits?

If you answered yes to all these questions, you are invited to attend a two-hour information session at the University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus, Old Potch Road, Soweto, on Thursday August 5 from 10 am.

This business skills training information session, presented by the university's Centre for Small and Medium Enterprises Development , is aimed at jobless Soweto individuals aged 16 to 35.

The course following the information session will accommodate up to 40 qualifying youngsters.

Known as the Mini Enterprise Programme, the course entails:

l Practical training on how to start and manage a business.

l Its duration is one afternoon a week for 11 consecutive weeks.

l While the nominal registration fee is R200 an applicant, the other costs will be covered by the university and a major sponsor.
