Tsotsi star Terry Pheto has now been given a new high-profile face - that of representing leading international cosmetics company L'Oreal Paris.

The Soweto-born actress cut her acting teeth in community theatre in the township before hitting it big time in the South African film Tsotsi as a lead character.

The film went on to win a couple of awards, including the biggest crown in acting, an Oscar, for Best Foreign language, in 2006.

For her latest coup Terry competed against hundreds of candidates to become triumphant and got the endorsement as the face of L'Oreal, the first black person to represent the cosmetics company in the world.

Terry's appointment by L'Oreal comes against the background of the launch of a new product aimed at the dark skin - the Even Perfect Skin Care range.

The actress is over the moon on this latest affirmation of her role as a leading actress in the country and internationally.

"I am extremely honoured to be appointed national spokesman for one of the largest and leading global cosmetics companies in the world," a content-looking Terry said.
