If you missed the marvellous Umoja last season, you now have another opportunity to see it.

The show will play at the Victory Theatre next week, and like its previous season, it is likely to attract a large audience.

As one of the most popular African musicals of all time - putting South Africa on the international map - this latest version of Umoja, The Spirit of Togetherness returns to the Victory, in Houghton Estate, next Friday after two successful overseas tours.

Umoja has already been seen by audiences in 28 countries and transports audiences into the history of South African music and dance. The 50-piece cast is made up from all of South Africa's different cultures and each have their own story to tell. The award-winning show has grown immensely over the years and will continue to do so with this latest season, totally revamped in terms of choreography, style and music.

Says the show's creator, Todd Twala: "We are thrilled that Umoja is coming back to South Africa after a tour to Paris and Martinique.

"It was so popular that it has been booked for a return to both places for another two months from November.

"The second Umoja company has just got back from Spain and has been booked again for eight weeks from October. Since we've got these two months we felt we should touch base by going back home to the Victory to show the South African public that Umoja is still cooking. We've added some new material to the show and we can't wait to show off the new kids on the block - there is phenomenal talent in this latest production."

The rebuilt Victory Theatre boasts four levels of secure on-site parking, at R10 a car, and an indoor/outdoor a la carte restaurant that can seat and cater for 460 people - the same capacity as the theatre itself.
