Ambitious Limpopo Vodacom Promotional League side Baroka FC have snapped up national Under-20 right-back Khumbulani "Magic" Mdluli as they continue to assemble a formidable side for the new campaign.
Their 2008-2009 season kicks off on Friday.
Mdluli impressed and convinced Baroka's technical team at the recent Metropolitan National U-19 Tournament where he was voted player of the competition.
He was grabbed from SAB league side Umhlathoze of KwaZulu-Natal.
"I came here with only one mission, to assist the team to get promotion to the National First Division (NFD). I am impressed by the team that is balanced in all departments and also by the management which is ambitious and committed to development," Mdluli said.
Another player who was also snatched by Baroka in the close season is Jabulani Ntombela, the former Lamontville Golden Arrows midfielder.
The 22-year-old was sidelined by an injury last season but struggled to break into the starting lineup after he recovered late in the season.
Like Mdluli, Ntombela is also keen to assist Baroka to succeed in their strong bid to win promotion to the NFD in the new term.
Baroka's coach, Moshibudi "Shibu" Mabitsela, is excited about their new players and is confident they will cause serious problems for their competitors.
"I'm satisfied with all my players and the experience of Khumbulani and Jabulani will also make us unstoppable," said Mabitsela.
