Maftown in North West will come alive this weekend to two music bashes that have been penciled for the town.

One is gospel and jazz and the other pop and soul.

To kick off the festivities on Friday will be the Maftown Gospel and Jazz Music Festival that will see a number of exciting acts take turns to entertain fans at the Mmabatho Convention Centre. On Saturday it will be the turn of pop and soul music fans, who are poised to have fun at the Mother of all Parties, also at the Mmabatho Convention Centre.

The gospel and jazz show features the Jaziel Brothers, Jub Jub, Lesego and Ziyaduma. The festival will take place from 6pm.

The Mother of all Parties features JR, Rhythmic Elements, Bantu Soul, DJ S'bu, DJ Fistaz, DJ Mixwell, Tbo Touch, Euphonic, Sphe, Franky, Kanunu, KB, Essence, Mzi, Mavusana and Zino 142.

This line-up includes part of the cream of popular entertainers on the local music scene, and both gigs promise to be crowd pullers in a town that rivals the famous Sun City nearby in terms of hosting interesting musicians.
