l Choose a time for reading when you and your child are both relaxed and not rushed.

l Choose books that your children will be most interested in, and age-appropriate, and remember: a young child likes colourful drawings and pictures of people.

lTo help your child understand that letters and words are symbols that are used to communicate, run your finger under the print.
