The great line-up for the Tshilimo Classic Festival will make music lovers jump for joy.

The annual show will be staged at Carnival City's Big Top Arena on August 3 as part of Woman's Month celebrations.

The line-up includes Sibongile Khumalo, Zamajobe, the Bala Brothers, Shwi Nomtekhala, the Kathorus Male Choir and the Cenestra Male Choir.

Festival organiser Lucas Mahlakgane says Tshilimo is a unique concept because it fuses various music styles, from jazz, classic, maskandi and opera to choral music.

"The festival puts esteemed artists on one stage and interprets every kind of music to produce musical harmony," Mahlakgane says.

"The concept has grown by leaps and bounds with each passing year and remains devoted to the promotion and exposure of innovative developments in the field of classic music."

He pays tribute to women for their remarkable role in the country's history.

"The festival pays a special tribute to women," he says. "It recognises the central role women have played in the struggle for freedom as the democratic government has in declaring August 9 South Africa's Women's Day.

"The government took the decision to honour the thousands of women who marched against the extension of passes to women in 1956," Mahlakganesays.

Tickets are available at Computicket for R125.
