Platinum Stars defender Daniel "Sailor" Tshabalala has been banned from playing football for two years, after Safa's disciplinary committe found him guilty of using a banned substance.

Platinum Stars defender Daniel "Sailor" Tshabalala has been banned from playing football for two years, after Safa's disciplinary committe found him guilty of using a banned substance.

Tshabalala was found guilty of using dagga at a sitting held in Tshwane on July 12.

The player pleaded guilty to contravening the organisation's anti-doping regulations, after he tested positive on April 13.

The former Orlando Pirates and FC AK star's career had looked revived when he joined Stars last season. His hearing was held under DC national chairman Solly Mookeletsi and he was defended by advocate Van As.

Tshabalala was ordered to pay costs amounting to R2 000 within 20 days. - Sowetan
