After the discovery of chopped human body parts in Senwabarwana village, Limpopo, at the weekend, two other bodies have been discovered.

The body of a man reported missing two months ago was discovered on Saturday and that of an unknown woman was found yesterday.

Frightened residents believe the killings are ritually motivated.

The body of Wayne Briton, 30, was found buried in a shallow grave outside Polokwane Extension 71 on Saturday.

Police spokesman Lesiba Ramoshaba said yesterday Briton had earlier been reported missing by his family.

"Through the help of the community, we were able to arrest a 28-year-old man and charged him with kidnapping," he said.

"This after we discovered Briton's vehicle dumped at the side of the road near Chuenespoort. His bloody cellphone and shoes were found in the car. We suspected he had been killed," said Ramoshaba.

Police found the body following a tip-off.

"We identified the body as that of Briton. We will now charge the suspect with murder, pending the results of an autopsy," he said.

Three other people - a woman and two men aged 19, 22 and 25 - were taken in for questioning.

Ramoshaba further said that the body of a woman, aged between 25 and 30, was found yesterday morning about 7km from Polokwane, on the road to Makhado.

"The woman is coloured but her name is not yet known. Five people were arrested 3km from the scene. They will appear in the Polokwane magistrate's court soon," Ramoshaba said.

On Sunday police arrested a Senwabarwana villager for the alleged killing of his friend. They were called by a farmer who found a maize meal bag containing human body parts. The suspect allegedly showed police other body parts he had buried in his yard. He will face charges of murder soon.
