The public has until 3pm this afternoon to make submissions to the Judicial Service Commission on whether hearings into Constitutional Court judges' complaint against Cape Judge President John Hlophe should be held in public or not.
The Black Lawyers' Association, which has supported Hlophe in the past, refused to say whether they supported public or closed hearings.
"We have taken a position and that position is being communicated to the JSC," said the organisation's vice-president, Sthembile Mgxaji.
Only the DA has so far asked the JSC to hold public hearings.
The ID's Patricia de Lille and the UDM's Bantu Holomisa said their parties were not going to make any submissions.
JSC spokesman Marumo Moerane did not respond to questions about how many submissions he had received or when the JSC would announce their decision.
