Mbuli is facing charges of assault, pointing a firearm, and intimidation against Philemon Masike and his assistant Maki Matsepo.
Mbuli appeared in the Germiston magistrate's court yesterday before magistrate James van Wyk who warned him to appear on October 8 for trial.
The alleged assault and other charges emanated from an incident when Mbuli questioned the pair about his uncle's murder.
