He said some of the countries that will take part in the World Cup have started doing research on possibly using South Africa's neighbours for their training camps.
Besides the hosts South Africa, 31 countries will participate in the quadrennial tournament from June 11 to July 11 2010.
Mamelodi said the local countries must start upgrading their stadiums to ensure they were in line with Fifa requirements.
Countries like Brazil and Portugal are likely to set up their training camps in Mozambique and Angola because they all speak Portuguese.
Botswana and Lesotho have shown an interest in hosting England, if they qualify.
Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Mozambique are some of the southern Africa countries that have started with World Cup preparations.
They are building new stadiums and upgrading existing ones and other sports facilities as well as the hotels to be enable them to deal with the large numbers of overseas tourists.
The 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee has been working closely with some of the African countries that also want a piece of the World Cup pie.
