Uphold law

Police are expected to maintain law and order and to protect citizens.

Police are expected to maintain law and order and to protect citizens.

Victims turn to the police so that the culprits can be arrested and tried in a court of law and justice prevail.

We are disturbed that prostitutes in the Johannesburg CBD are being harassed, assaulted and even raped by the very people who are supposed to uphold the law.

Prostitutes are obviously operating illegally by soliciting clients in the streets, but they also have rights to live and be protected by the police. If they contravene any laws they must be arrested and charged.

The police cannot abuse and deny them the right to lay charges against the culprits.

Cops are not above the law.
