Bidvest Wits have signed Brian Kgafane on a three-year contract from Thanda Royal Zulu, his business manager Thabo Moloto has confirmed.
Moloto told Sowetan that the deal was signed with Roger de Sa, The Clever Boys' coach, in Johannesburg yesterday morning.
"We are excited that Roger did not waste time in signing Kgafane, he is a great player and will definitely add value to the team," he said.
"I also want to thank Roger for the manner in which the whole deal was handled, that is why they have also signed Boelli Tshabalala, also from my stable.
"Boelli has signed a two-year deal. He joined Wits from First Division League side Winners Park of Seshego in Limpopo."
Kgafane was initially reported to have signed a three-year deal with Moroka Swallows, but Moloto said the agreement with the Birds is now null and void.
"I had reached an agreement with Leon Prins [Swallows' managing director], but they came back to us later with a new offer that was unacceptable."
Moloto also announced that former Kaizer Chiefs captain Cyril Nzama is set to join newly promoted Premiership side Maritzburg United.
"I had a meeting with Maritzburg United chairman Farouk Kadodia, he is looking for a polished defence and Cyril is the man. We hope to finalise the deal before the end of this week."
At the same time, veteran striker Peter Ndlovu is on the wanted lists of Maritzburg and Bay United. The latter are involved in the First Division playoffs.
"We are still talking. Bay United have made it clear that they will take Ndlovu should they gain promotion. They want a few quality players to beef up the team," Moloto said.
On the latest regarding Dikgang Mabalane's move to Denmark, Moloto said: "He went to Denmark for a medical, everything is fine now.
"We are just waiting for the matter to be heard by the Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC), hopefully that will be done in the next few days.
"There are also clubs locally who have shown interest, but it will be up to Dikgang to decide."
Cosmos owner Jomo Sono has taken the matter up with DRC after arguing that Mabalane was still contracted to them.
