A KwaZulu-Natal teacher has spoken out against the abuse and trauma that female teachers face.
The 38-year-old teacher, whose identity is being protected, claims she was abused by the convicted former principal of Hlokohloko Primary School in Empangeni, Anton Mathenjwa.
He is in jail for the murder of two teachers .
She claims Mathenjwa demanded a bribe of R3000 for the job and a "further R1000 and sex as a show of gratitude".
In May 2005 she applied for a transfer through the National Teacher's Union (Natu) and has been without a post since then.
KwaZulu-Natal education department spokesman Mbali Thusi yesterday said the teacher was being contacted to return to work "as the principal is now behind bars".
