In another twist involving the public protector’s office‚ the Minister of Co-operative Governance an.
Afro-pop and jazz artist Presss, aka Preston Sihlangu, is still running away from paying papgeld.
Didi Magadela, the mother of his three-year-old son Lwazi, says the former 101 group member has resorted to harassment to stop her from pursuing papgeld.
Sihlangu failed to pitch up in court several times for maintenance. When a settlement was finally reached he was instructed to pay R1000 a month.
"Some months he made a duck with the money," Magadela said. "Last month the money was increased to R1800. Since then I have not received a cent from him.
"My child recently got sick from food poisoning and I needed money to take him to the doctor, but he told me that he had financial problems.
"But that very day he threw a big party for his friends in Bloemfontein. He did not even come to see his child."
Magadela said when she called, his wife Busisiwe Ntseki, whom he married recently, answered the phone.
"She told me to stop calling her husband and called me an old bitch who did not want to work. She said I should look for a job and stop demanding money from Presss."
Magadela, who admits being years older than Sihlangu, said she was amazed at Ntseki calling her an old bitch while she herself is older than Sihlangu.
"This woman is amazing," she said. "She had a 10-year-old child before the marriage and she says I'm older."
Magadela said Sihlangu insisted that he never planned Lwazi.
"Did I rape him?" Magadela asked. "Why did he not use a condom? He annoys me so much that I have even removed the name Mangaliso, which he gave him, from my child's birth certificate."
When asked to comment Sihlangu said he I didn't like entertaining publicity stunts and dropped the phone.
His wife could not be reached for comment.
