Two main hotels and a number of guest lodges in Mafikeng are fully booked, a month before the prestigious Telkom Charity Cup takes place.

This one-day tournament will be played at Mmabatho Stadium in the North West province on August 2.

The hotels are Tusk Mmabatho, Protea Hotel and Ferns Country Lodge and they are no longer taking bookings for that weekend.

Marketing manager at Protea Hotel, Masego Itumeleng, said that all 99 rooms were already booked.

"We normally reserve half of the rooms for players and team officials while the remaining rooms are for supporters and those have been booked long in advance."

Seipati Motsumi, sales executive at Tusk Mmabatho, said: "We are not taking any bookings because all our rooms will be for the participating teams."

Kaizer Chiefs have now taken the lead with 20 152 votes followed by Mamelodi Sundowns with 17000 votes, Orlando Pirates with 16739 votes, and AmaZulu in fourth place with 14725.

Fifth are Bloemfontein Celtic with 14340 votes, while Moroka Swallows are sixth with 1123 votes.
