In a concerted effort to gain promotion to the Absa Premiership next season, National First Division (NFD) Winners Park have extended their contract with coach Boebie "Mzala" Solomons.

The club confirmed yesterday that the contract was extended for one season.

"We resolved to extend Solomons' contract to fortify our promotion chances, stability and continuity within the technical team," spokesman Stan "Monna wa geshu" Mokgawa told Sowetan.

"Solomons has transformed the team within a short space of time and as a result we are confident that he will lead us to the Premiership next season."

Solomons, who joined Winners Park from Black Leopards in the middle of last season, said his mission is to deliver the team to the elite league.

"I need to reinforce the team with fresh blood as it is obvious that some of our key players might be lost to Premiership teams.

" I will also rope in my lieutenant to ensure that there is stability in the technical team; I have confidence in the current team," Solomons said.

Winners Park are likely to be faced with an exodus of players to the Premiership and other NFD teams.

They have already lost instrumental midfielder Morgan "Mavhambe" Shivhambu to Moroka Swallows.

Another player who is likely to move out of the Seshego-based side's nest is Godfrey "West" Nobula, who is training with fellow NFD club Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Meanwhile, Black Aces are still engaged in a search for a coach to replace Kenny Ndlazi who parted ways with them last month.

"We are working around the clock to find a coach who will assist us in our mission and fight for promotion," Thabo "T-Bose" Moroape, the team's spokesman, said.

"The coach's first assignment is to assess players who are currently training with us."

Some of the new players who are training with the team are Ndodana Sibanda from GaRankuwa United, Kanika Micheline Mutondo from FC Cape Town, Bhekithemba Ndlovu from Platinum Stars, Songwe Chalwe from Moroka Swallows and Nobula from Winners Park.

Three players have been roped in from the team's development division - Surprise Magagula, Ntokozo Shabalala and Mbezweni Thidzaulima.
