The South African Football Association has deployed administrator Barney Kujane to assist in the running of its provincial affairs.

This came after the death of Moss Sibilanga last Thursday following a long illness. Kujane has been assisting for almost a month in Sibilanga's absence.

Raymond Hack, Safa's chief executive, said: "We were all shattered by the death of Sibilanga, he was a dedicated worker.

"The Under-23s are not having any programme after we were knocked out of the Beijing Olympics, so we have roped in Kujane to help us run the provincial affairs.

"We had hoped that Sibilanga would get better and return to work. For now, Kujane will continue in that department until an announcement regarding the position is made."

Hack also announced that Sibilanga's memorial service will take place on Wednesday. Funeral arrangements will be announced today.

Sibilanga joined Safa in 1994 after the establishment of the Development Trust. He was seconded by Royden Vice, the managing director of Afrox.

At that stage, Vice was the chairman of the Development Trust. In 2005, Sibilanga was employed on full-time basis by Safa where he continued handling the Development Trust matters.

Sibilanga was appointed provincial affairs manager in June last year after Sipho Nkumane was moved to Bafana Bafana as its new manager.

Molefi Oliphant, Safa president, has also sent his condolences to the Sibilanga family.

Oliphant worked closely with Sibilanga when they were signing memoranda of agreements with other African countries like Liberia and Mozambique.
