Correctional Services said that “matters are under control” at Johannesburg’s Sun City Prison on Wed.
With the introduction of the Rea Vaya bus system the taxi industry can either begin effective self-regulation or they can continue with their lawless ways and watch the industry die due to lack of passengers.
Last month Councillor Khume Ramulifho's nephew was killed by a speeding taxi. It is precisely because of such cowboy driving that people would rather use their own cars or will switch to transport like theRea Vaya system.
What's more, taxi violence will speed up this process and help cause the death of the industry.
The taxi industry is now at a pivotal point. If taxis switched to correct, friendly, law-abiding driving, they will attract passengers. Don't change and it's bye-bye taxis!
