Soweto police have reconstructed the facial features of a human skeleton that was discovered in Eldorado Park in southern Johannesburg last year.

The bones were discovered by members of the Bushkoppies community next to the Golden Highway on March 28.

The skeleton was taken to a laboratory for tests and reconstruction.

Police spokesman Captain Philemon Khorombi said: "The lab test an forensic results indicate that the person was a female of mixed race aged between 30 and 50 years.

"At some time during her life she had suffered a nasal fracture."

Khorombi said the cause of death could not be determined because the body was too badly decomposed.

He said anyone who recognised the person is encouraged to contact Inspector Louise Coetzee on 084-693-2363 or visit her at the Eldorado Park police station.

The semi-decomposed body of a boy aged between six and seven was discovered in May in the veld near the Golden Highway in Vanderbijlpark by a man who went to relieve himself.

The boy had a stab wound to the neck. No one has been arrested for his death.
