Pat Malabela, Dynamos chairman, has called for an urgent meeting of the league to regulate the operation of agents and the business managers of players.

"The sooner we have such a gathering, the better for our soccer. The agents and business managers of the players are killing our football," said Malabela.

Malabela's comments come after Irvin Khoza, the league's chairman, lashed out at soccer agents for creating what he described as an "artificial market".

"Khoza is right. The problem that I have with agents and business managers is that they are only after money and not the best interests of the players," said Malabela.

"Bafana Bafana are suffering now because of the influence that these agents have.

"Players are pressurised to belong to certain stables of agents or business managers because they know the benefits - being selected for Bafana Bafana.

"I will propose that the issue of agents and business managers be discussed by the PSL. We have to regulate their operations.

"These people disappear soon after signing contracts. You will only see them when it's time to renew contracts or when a player wants to join a new club.

"The other problem that I have with them is that these agents and business managers have the final say when a player has to move to another club," he said.
