While the family of a Limpopo man, who went missing after he was allegedly caught having sex with a taxi operator's wife, are keeping quiet about the matter, the police remain curious about where hecould be.
Unconfirmed reports three weeks ago said Makeke was spotted at the funeral of his best friend in GaSelala village in Driekop.
People who attended the funeral said he was driving a BMW 1-Series.
Makeke's wife has several times refused to speak about the disappearance of her husband and has refused to give her name.
Police said yesterday they were concerned about the whereabouts of Dickson Makeke, former community liaison officer at the Greater Sekhukhune district municipality.
Makeke, 45, went missing on January 18 after the taxi operator allegedly caught him having sex with his wife at his house in GaMampuru village near Steelpoort.
Makeke was last seen throwing himself into the fast-flowing Tubatse River, with the husband and members of the community hot on his heels.
Police spokesman Superintendent Mohale Ramatseba said though they were not looking for Makeke to press charges against him, they were concerned, "just as his family and the public were", to know his whereabouts.
"Makeke did nothing to warrant his arrest but we are curious to know where he is," Ramatseba said.
Shortly after Makeke disappeared into the river there was a police helicopter overhead while divers searched for him, but he was nowhere to be found.
His employers even stopped paying his salary into his bank account in February, hoping this would force him to contact them.
Makeke's family seem unperturbed about his disappearance.
Sowetan contacted some of his relatives for comment but they did not want to speak about the matter, nor did they appear concerned.
