Police in Limpopo have arrested 13 suspects in connection with ATM bombings in the province in the past few weeks.
The first arrests were made on June 12 when the cops acted on information about a possible ATM bombing.
They spotted a suspicious looking car and when the suspects entered a filling station at Madiba Park near Seshego they were arrested.
Commercial explosives and several firearms, including R5 rifles with live rounds, pistols, hammers and crow bars were found in their possession.
The vehicle driven by the suspects was confiscated.
The suspects, Nkosinathi Clifton Khumalo, 25, from Diepkloof, Soweto, Eniel Docky Mohlekoa, 33, from Sharpeville, Sipho David Malombo, 24, from Randburg, and Michael Vuyisile Zumane, 25, from Diepkloof, are in custody.
Following up on a tip-off, police also arrested two suspects in connection with three ATM bombings at Matoks in March.
Khehla Hlatshwayo, 35, of Mofolo, Soweto, and Neo Tladi, 36, of Orlando, have both appeared in court. They are in custody.
Another suspect was arrested on June 19 when police followed up information about an ATM blast in Boshoek near Rustenburg in January.
The suspect was identified as Constable Keketso Santho, 31, who was attached to the West Rand dog unit.
