Volkswagen SA has launched the Caddy Maxi series - the Life and the Panel Van.

The Caddy Maxi Life was launched to complement the Panel Van. VWSA saw the need to provide the market with an alternative to the VW Kombi, which is larger than the Maxi Life.

The roomy interior concept and generous luggage capacity in the Caddy Maxi Life offer plenty of space for seven people and their luggage. When you take a seat in the Caddy Maxi Life you can look forward to an intelligent mobility concept and plenty of good ideas. As a driver, you will welcome the advantages of the height-adjustable steering wheel and individual adjustments for the cab seats. Passengers will appreciate the attractive interior with full trim and flexible layout.

The Life can cater for very differing needs: the 3-seater bench seat in the first row is split-folding, and double folding - this means that once the seats have been folded down, they can again be folded forwards.

Both the Panel Van and the Life were launched in a 1,9 TDI engine which delivers 77kW of power available in a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Caddy comes fully equipped with driver and front passenger air bags, side air bags in front; anti-lock brake system and traction control system; electronic stability programme and engine drag torque control system. The adjusted chassis of the Life is specially designed for the comfortable and safe transportation of up to seven people, including luggage, and is characterised by pronounced passenger handling characteristics.

The Caddy Maxi Panel Van represents simple versatility and is the longer version of the standard Caddy Panel Van. It closes the gap between the Caddy Panel Van and the T5 Transporter range.

The Caddy Maxi Panel Van is priced at R165 900, while the Maxi Life goes for R218 800.
