Treatment for acne

How is acne treated?

How is acne treated?

There are many over- the-counter medicines - medicines that do not need a prescription - that can treat acne. They come in many forms, including gels, lotions, creams, soaps and pads. Ask the pharmacist to help you find one that will suit you.

Some people have bad reactions to over- the-counter acne medications such as skin irritation, burning or redness. If this is the case with you, tell your doctor and he might want to give you a prescription for another type of medication. It will take between eight and 12 weeks before you see an improvement in your skin. - webmed.
