A scintillating performance by Movers FC earned them a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Vosloo Sports in the Coca-Cola Shanduka competition at Malandela Ground in Tsakane at the weekend.

Movers top Group C with six points from two games, three points ahead of second-placed Mighty Birds from the same number of matches.

From the onset, the game was equally balanced as both team fought tigerishly to get an early lead.

Movers broke the deadlock two minutes before the interval when striker Solly Mokoena converted a cross from Moses Mdluli.

In the second period Sports came out smoking as they had their counterparts pegged back in their danger area with slick passes.

But Movers' solid defence commanded by Sifiso "Stone" Nyangula resisted the pressure.

Six minutes before full time Movers scored their second through midfielder Andries "Seen" Ndlovu who mesmerised the entire Sports defence before finding the net with a cracker.

In another game, striker Thabo Maleswane's 77th minute goal led City Sharks to a slim 1-0 win over Eveready Spurs in a tough match.

New Era Santos scored their first win of the competition when they clobbered Epsilon 2-0 in Group D.
