Phelisa Pearl Mkhuma was allegedly killed by her boyfriend. Without prejudging anyone, I am tempted to ask: "Will violence against women ever stop in this country?"

For how long must women continue to die like flies? Unfortunately, I do not have the answers to these spiritually excruciating questions that we all have to answer.

Women are violated daily by men who claim to love them. I wonder if we men really love women, judging by how we treat them. I ask myself every day why we men are unable to let go without resorting to violence.

Why are we also not able to use the enormous power that we have positively in our relationships?

Today, Mkhuma's young, vulnerable children have no mother who can provide for them. This is all because her boyfriend could allegedly not accept that the relationship was over.

To add fuel to fire, you have the ANCYL's Julius Malema preaching violence in a country that has not been able to deal with its horrendous violent past.

Men's collective deafening silence says volumes about how tolerant we are of violence against women and children. Will it ever stop? Mkhuma, may your soul rest in peace.
