Nelspruit Lowveld High School went on the rampage on Wednesday afternoon when they thrashed Valencia High School 12-1 in the last-32 stage of the soccer section of the Silulumanzi Cup for Mbombela high schools.
Siphiwo Rikhotso was the hero of the day for Lowveld as he scored the first four goals in the opening 20 minutes that unsettled the directionless Valencia.
Sipho Makhanya scored one of his two goals to make it 5-0. Just before half time Loyiso Jeje made it 6-0. After the break Makhanya netted his second, Muzi Nkosi scored while Kobetji Madike and Moses Fuwela both netted twice.
Valencia got their consolation goal from Isaac Thompson.
Martin Mashiya, Lowveld coach, said: "The boys played well together and they deserve the win."
They were hoping to meet Bhekiswako in the next round to avenge last year's loss.
