South Africa will play Wales in the third and fourth place playoff match of the IRB World Junior Championships in Wales on Sunday.

The Junior Boks went down 26-18 in a brave rearguard action against England in Wednesday's semifinal.

The South Africans scored two tries in as many minutes midway through the first half from eighthman and captain Gerrit Jan van Velze and wing Cecil Afrika to lead 15-10.

But England took advantage of a heavier pack and stronger scrum to reel in South Africa and dominate the second half with a strong breeze at their backs.

England will play New Zealand in the final, following the latter's 31-6 victory over Wales. - Sapa
