Baba Alfred Nokwe was a true son of the soil, a champion of all South Africans. He united young and old, black and white and the haves and have nots.
Nokwe's great sense of humour and talent comforted us during the most difficult times. He was a hero of disadvantaged people, especially the poor from KwaMashu, Soweto, Gugulethu and all the other townships.
Arts and culture communities must honour Nokwe for his work in theatre, television and films. A lot of talent ended up on the world stage partly because he inspired us to be the best we can be. What a great loss for the entire country. Lala ngoxolo Qhawe lamaQhwawe!
