How will Audi SA turn the wheel to become number one ahead of BMW and Mercedes-Benz by its goal date of 2015?

The answer is simple, according to Audi SA: it will introduce beautiful cars topped with attractive prices.

The new Audi A4 is one of them.

It represents elegance, quality and class in every respect.

The 1,8TFSI and the 2,0TDI did well on the day we drove them.

Dynamic steering and adaptive damper regulation systems, working independently or combined, are at the heart of Audi Drive Select. On request, your new A4 can be fitted with this innovative feature that, at a push of a button on the centre console, gives your car a completely different personality.

Compared with the previous model, the new A4 has clearly grown in size and acquired new, dynamic proportions. On the road, it flexes its muscles with a sense of greater substance and power than its predecessor.

The bonnet is tautly and powerfully contoured, with bold V-pattern lines extending forward to the nose. In contrast to the previous model the Audi single-frame grille that dominates this aspect of the car is broader and lower.

The edge of the bonnet intersects lightly with the tops of the headlights, a device that suggests determination and is strongly expressive. The curving lower contour provides an elegant touch, supported by a subtle fold in the metal.

The space for each of the five-seat occupants is correspondingly generous. In fact, the 1,8TFSI has many surprises.

The turbo-charged, direct-injection engine gives the new Audi A4 ample performance. The version with six-speed manual gearbox has a top speed of 225kmh.

Pricing starts from R269000 for the base model to R320000 for the 2,0TDI.

Other engine derivatives will be introduced early next year.
