The mood was sombre at the Sowetan head offices in Industria West yesterday after the news of the death of sub editor Nicholas Modise.
Modise, who has been ill for some time, died at a private clinic in Johannesburg yesterday morning after being in the intensive care unit for more than three weeks.
Also known as Amiel Steven Sebolao, Modise joined Sowetan in 1996 as a general sub editor after working as a senior journalist for various publications in Botswana .
At the time of his death, Modise was dealing specifically with the sports pages of Sowetan.
His sister, Magdeline Thokoane, a spokesman for the family, said they were still to finalise details regarding Modise's funeral arrangements. - Ramatsiyi Moholoa
