Alleged rapist, actor Jabu "Gunman" Kubheka, is nowhere to be found after the Independent Complaints Directorate (ICD) ordered Orange Farm police to open a case of statutory rape against him.

"We do not know his age, his ID number or where he lives," Captain Johannes Motsiri, spokesman for the Orange Farm police station, said.

He said trying to find Kubheka was "like chasing a ghost" .

"It is hard to find him because we heard that he lives between Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal."

The Orange Farm police started searching for Kubheka on Thursday after the ICD intervened when the complainant told the ICD that the Orange Farm police had not properly investigated the alleged rape.

ICD spokesman Dikeledi Phiri said the alleged victim had approached them because she believed the Orange Farm police investigation was not satisfactory

"We want to ensure that they do right by the victim because she complained to us about their investigation," Phiri said.

Motsiri said that despite a lack of details regarding Kubheka, other police had tipped them off about his whereabouts.

Meanwhile, the complainant has stopped taking calls.

All attempts to get her opinion went unanswered.
