The ANCYL has degenerated into factional politics. It no longer plays its historic role of serving as a political training ground that produces cadres to better serve and lead the ANC.
What should be at the top of the agenda must be the fact that its national congress ended inconclusively for the first time in the history of this glorious revolutionary vanguard of young people, because of internal problems. Delegates refused to ratify the election of five office bearers.
The league has many challenges it should be addressing rather than preoccupying itself with who should lead the ANC in Limpopo.
The task of determining the leadership there is the competence of branches in that province.
Mokaba was one of the most radical, militant and vibrant leaders ever produced by the ANCYL but he never had the audacity to publicly insult leaders of the ANC .
