The Mpumalanga International Premier Tournament could be a useful platform for some to settle scores.

Mpumalanga Black Aces, who recently lost 1-0 to the fancied Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final, hope the Tshwane side will form part of the tournament that includes Mbabane Highlanders from Swaziland and Angola's Deportivo on June 28.

The venue for this inaugural event will be announced on Thursday in Nelspruit.

Thabo "T-Bose" Moroape, Aces' spokesman, confirmed that they received an invitation to participate in the tournament and that they will honour it.

"We are looking forward to meet Sundowns in the final and this time around they will not beat us," said Moroape.

But that will depend on whether Sundowns confirm their participation.

Harris "TV 4" Choeu, Sundowns' assistant coach, said: "We received an invitation and we will decide on Tuesday whether the date suit us."

Dumisani Sibandze, Mbabane Highlanders' spokesman, said they are coming to the tournament to win it.

"After finishing as runners up in our league, we will need to win this trophy to decorate our cabinets and give our supporters something to smile about," said Sibandze.
