The yearly Coca-Cola Shanduka Soccer Challenge will be in full swing at Bluegum View Grounds in Duduza on Sunday.
The competition, which is hosted by Safa Ekurhuleni, is bankrolled by the beverage company based in Nigel.
Sixteen Metropolitan League teams, playing under the region's four Local Football Associations, will compete.
The four LFAs involved are Brakpan, Nigel, Springs and Vosloorus.
Joseph Matiea, the region's deputy president, said they decided to invite the top four teams from each LFA.
He said the tournament has been divided into four pools, and will be played on a round robin system.
The two top teams from each pool will proceed to the quarterfinals on August 3 and the finals are on September 7.
The finalists will play with a set of new kits and the winners will pocket R10000, a floating trophy and gold medals.
The runners-up will get R5 000 and silver medals, while the winners of the losers' final will get R2500 and bronze medals.
Pool A: Disco Birds, Barcelona, East Rand FC and Sporting.
Pool B: Nigel Stars, Junior Spinners, Eveready, Spurs and City Stars.
Pool C: Valencia, Mighty Birds, Vosloo Sports and Movers.
Pool D: New Era Santos, Newcastle United, East Rand and Epsilon.
Sunday's fixtures: Valencia v Mighty Birds (10am); Sporting v East Rand (noon); Disco Birds v Barcelona (2pm); Nigel Stars v Juniors (4pm).
There will be also prizes for the player of the tournament, top goal scorer of the tournament, goalkeeper of the tournament and coach of the tournament.
