Women cricketers prepare for battle

The South African women's cricket team has lined-up international matches against Ireland and England in preparation for the International Cricket Council Women's World Cup in Australia next year.

They meet Ireland in a one-day international and Twenty20 matches on July 31 and August 1. Both games will be played at Wellington College.

They tour England from August 4 to 23 to play five one day internationals and three Twenty20 matches against the English.

Zola Thamae, SA team manager, said their preparations have been excellent. This follows their successful three-day training camp at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria last weekend.

Coach Noor Rhodes was also very happy about their preparations. Noor said they watched a lot of video tapes to analyse their opponents' strength and weakness.
