This weekend marks the end of the road for the current board of Boxing SA. Their three-year term ends tomorrow.

But this committee of Dali Mpofu (chairman), Alan Norman, Sakhiwo Sodo, Peter Ngatane, Stompie Xulu and Violet Magwaca will bid bon voyage in style.

They will be in charge of three super tournaments, two of them tonight - one hosted by Branco Milenkovic at the Carousel casino in Hammanskraal and the other by Janse Coetzee at Birchwood Hotel in Ekurhuleni..

Tomorrow night sees Golden Gloves paying tribute to former IBF junior featherweight king Vuyani "The Beast" Bungu at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park.

Top name fighters like Osborne "Maximus" Machimana, Silence "Real Deal" Mabuza, Daniel "Billy the Kid" Bruwer and Jonas "Dynamite" Kgasago will be in action . A t the Carousel Kgasago defends the mini flyweight belt against Gideon Buthelezi while Peter Mashamaite and Khaphathe Mphambanyeni will fight for the vacant middleweight belt.

Prospect Cleutus Mbele faces Nkosinathi Tshinavhe, while Vus'Umuzi Tyatyeka will be up against Nicholas Modibeng in other undercard fights.

Then at Birchwood Hotel, Sebastiaan "The Soldier" Rothmann, the vastly experienced tough as nails former SA, WBU and IBO cruiserweight champion, could end the career of Sean Santana even before it starts.

Rothmann has 18 wins (12 KOs) and five losses while Santana is a mere novice of three fights - two wins and one loss. Their eight rounder will top the programme of Coetzee which involves Hekkie "Hexecutioner" Budler against Loyiso Ngantweni in the mini flyweight division over six rounds.

Tomorrow Machimana should brush Myan Solomons aside in defence of his SA heavyweight belt while war is on the cards in the national lightweight fight between holder Bruwer and Anthony van Niekerk.

Mabuza should also walk past Argentinian Damien Marchiano in defence of the IBO bantamweight belt while boxing artistry is a certainty in "Hawk" Makepula and Zolile "Bonecrusher" Mbityi's battle for the vacant IBO junior bantamweight strap.
