The death of businesswoman Manana Eliane Majuba on Tuesday has sent shockwaves among members of her close-knit family, friends, relatives, church and the business community.

Majuba, 47, was the wife of Gabriel Majuba, a respected Boksburg logistics businessman. Popularly known as Mbileni, she was also a reputable and hard-working businesswoman.

At the time of her death, Majuba was running a successful catering company.

This week, she was described as someone full of life who lived hers to the fullest. A devoted Christian and a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in KwaThema, Springs, Majuba had a string of academic qualifications - among them BA Paed and a BA Honours.

She also did an early childhood development course at the University of Tel Aviv in Israel. A hands-on person, she was involved in community development projects.

As a member of the Iris Women's Club, an NGO focusing on the development of women, she advanced the empowerment of women. Majuba was instrumental in the setting up of the first children's home in Giyani, Limpopo.

She is survived by her husband, daughter, mother and three siblings. She will be buried today at Elspark Cemetery. The service, at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in KwaThema, starts at 7.30am.
