SHAKING UP BUSHBUCKRIDGE

Moroka Swallows defender James Mayinga believes that his inaugural school tournament will offer budding youngsters from his birth place, Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga, a chance to be scouted and play in the Absa Premiership.

Moroka Swallows defender James Mayinga believes that his inaugural school tournament will offer budding youngsters from his birth place, Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga, a chance to be scouted and play in the Absa Premiership.

The James Mayinga Cup will be officially launched tomorrow with a gala dinner at Orhovelani Hall.

Sixteen schools from the 11 regions under the Bushbuckridge municipality will compete in the tournament.

Earlier in the day a PSL invitation XI will play against a Bushbuckridge municipality XI at the local stadium at 3pm.

"Bushbuckridge municipality is big and it's supposed to be represented by a pool of players in higher divisions. It saddens me to learn that it's only me, Michael Manzini [Mamelodi Sundowns] and Katlego Mashego [SuperSport United] who ply their trade in the PSL," said Mayinga. - Richard Nkosi
