Lulama Primary School's Under-12 team will use the experience of Pimville Cameroon's coach Zakes Kumalo when they compete in the Danone Nations Cup national finals on Saturday.

Nathi Nkosi, Lulama coach, yesterday confirmed that Kumalo has been roped in to assist the team in its preparations for the competition.

The Klipspruit-based side is one of the 12 schools that will take part in the event scheduled for the Safa Development Centre in Klipspruit, Soweto.

"We engaged the services of the well-experienced Kumalo to help us prepare the boys physically and mentally ahead of the competition.

"Our preparations have been running according to plan and the youngsters are well focused," said Nkosi.

Most of the players doing duty for Lulama are in teams campaigning in the Safa Soweto Under-12 development league.

It means the Soweto youngsters will have home advantage. But there is also the weight of expectation from the home crowd to lift the trophy.

Teams will be divided into two pools and games will be played in a round-robin system.

The two schools that finish top in each group will then advance to the semifinals.

Other participating teams are Thuthuka, Phahamong and Madibane (Gauteng); Ndabenhle, Sinamuva, Caluza and Sanzwili (KwaZulu-Natal) and Western Cape's Lwazi, Plantation, Gardenia and ACJ Pakage.
