Police in Estcourt in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands are trying to find the relatives of a man whose corpse was found with a bullet wound to the head a week ago.

The unknown man's body was found dumped in tall grass near a road.

Police spokesman Charmaine Struwig said the corpse was discovered by a man who was hunting in the Cornfields area.

"The deceased was found in the tall grass a short distance from a gravel road leading to Cornfields," she said

"The body was partially decomposed.

"We urge the public to help the police identify the victim."

Struwig said the deceased had a dark complexion and was of slender build. He was 1,78 metres tall and weighed about 68kg.

"He was clean shaven and has a pointed nose. He was wearing black Bermuda trousers, a white-and-yellow long-sleeved Kaizer Chiefs jersey and brown army canvas boots."

Anybody who can help should call the police on 036-352-3180/1 or 082-837-7063.

In another incident, members of the Pietermaritzburg crime combating unit, who are in Bergville to deal with the border conflict between the Magangagozi and Mhlawazini communities, discovered seven bags of dagga and seeds.

Struwig said the dagga was found during patrols.
