Road Rave welcomes the Honda Civic.

The Honda Civic hatch has been with us for just over a month and has held on to the standards of its little sister, the Jazz.

Like the Jazz we had on test, the Civic has not given any problems at all.

The 1,8 i-VTEC petrol-powered engine is a smooth operator, the type that says "drive me". The Honda Civic 5-door has treated me with honour. The type of car that is always ready to take on the long trip to KwaZulu-Natal without having to worry.

The Honda Civic has been a worldwide success story. Honda's UK manufacturing plant in Swindon, where the Civics destined for South Africa are built, last year celebrated the production of its one-millionth Civic. Closer to home, the inherent excellence of the five-door hatchback has been widely acknowledged, with the most recent accolade its top position in the authoritative JD Power and Associates Customer Satisfaction Index Survey. The Civic 5-Door scored best in the upper hatchback sector.

The front-end treatment ensures instant recognition. The short frontal area and wind-cheating profile aid aerodynamics, with obvious benefits in operating efficiency and performance.

We will keep you posted on the progress of our new member of the family.

Pricing starts at R179900 to R219900.
