MASTERS BACK IN ACTION

The soccer masters' league in Limpopo will be back in action after a year-long break due to a fallout over finances.

The soccer masters' league in Limpopo will be back in action after a year-long break due to a fallout over finances.

The league was established in 2003 under the leadership of former Vodacom League provincial coordinator Peter Mathekga.

The teams featured former players from the now defunct National Premier Soccer League, National Soccer League and local players.

"Our problems started early in 2007 when some of the teams felt that the league's finances were not properly administered, something that angered the committee. As a result everything came to a halt.

"Following discussions we resolved to revive the masters' league with effect from June 1 this year," Mathekga, the league's chairman, said. - Matome Lebea
