China has invited Danny Jordaan, the LOC's chief executive, to speak on the importance of hosting a major sporting event.

China has invited Danny Jordaan, the LOC's chief executive, to speak on the importance of hosting a major sporting event.

As part of his presentation, Jordaan will compare the hosting of the Olympic Games and World Cup, and their effect.

The event is organised by the International Football Arena on May 23 and 24. Jordaan and his delegation will leave on May 21.

China is hosting the Olympics in Beijing in August.

Jordaan will also use the opportunity to update the Asians on World Cup preparations.

From China, Jordaan will fly to Down Under where Fifa will be hosting a congress on May 29 and 30. Before that, on May 26, Jordaan will address a conference on how to use the World Cup to improve relations between South Africa and the Australians.

The Australian soccer authorities have organised the conference in the wake of tensions between the two countries, especially after negative reports in the Australian and other media questioning South Africa's readiness to host the World Cup.
