A malicious and misleading e-mail about which Your Money had warned people last week has also caught the attention of the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF).
The GEPF has cautioned its members about the e-mail, which claims people will not get their pension payouts after 2010.
"Members are advised that a misleading e-mail message concerning government's social security and retirement reform initiatives is currently in circulation," says the GEPF.
"The e-mail alleges that members of pension funds will not be able to access their accumulated benefits after 2010 and will get a 'government pension' instead.
"There is no truth in this allegation. The board of trustees wishes to reassure all members that their pension fund is secure and should not worry about the e-mail."
