Andrew Dipela yesterday resigned from the PSL with immediate effect and this is despite the fact that his sexual harassment charges levelled against him were withdrawn unconditionally by the league.

Dipela confirmed to Sowetan yesterday that he had resigned from the league where he was the general manager of football.

The statement, which was signed by Dipela and PSL's chief executive Kjetil Siem, states that both parties have concluded an agreement in terms of which the allegations of sexual harassment against Dipela would be unconditionally withdrawn and retracted by the league.

"Mr Dipela has contributed significantly to the success of the league and, as such, a certain amount of remuneration will be paid to him in acknowledgment of such contribution," the statement read in part.

Dipela refused to reveal the amount he would receive from the PSL.

Though he refused to discuss his future plans, Dipela insisted to Sowetan that he would not be lost to football.

Asked why he decided to resign after the charges where withdrawn, he said the conditions would not be conducive for him to return to the PSL because his accusers are still working there.
