Nadeco erodes IFP support base

The National Democratic Convention (Nadeco) is making inroads into IFP strongholds in the Zululand region ahead of the national general elections to be held next year.

The National Democratic Convention (Nadeco) is making inroads into IFP strongholds in the Zululand region ahead of the national general elections to be held next year.

This comes after the launch of three branches in Nongoma and Ceza areas on Saturday.

Sipho Mkhize, Nadeco's national media liaison, said this was part of the organisation's drive to succeed in the general elections next year.

"The campaign aims to stabilise the support base in all provinces before the 2009 general elections.

The move aims to ensure the party increases a pool of supporters as it wants to give the people of this country an alternative to the ruling ANC," said Mkhize. - Canaan Mdletshe
