He also said he couldn't decipher exactly what President Thabo Mbeki meant when he said there was no crisis in Zimbabwe.
If Mogale has difficulty deciphering what Mbeki said he would find hieroglyphs a nightmare during a stormy, lightning-riddled night.
On the currency, it was caused by the devaluation by the West and its financial institutions. They are the ones who should be regarded as funny. The items listed on the Holiday Inn slip accompanying Mogale's column are mouth-splattering and palate-titillating.
Did Mogale's friend tell him about the quality of food at that hotel, to which millions in this country don't have access, or has he just nit-picked the currency issue?
On comical translations, I have this Setswana proverb:Maragana teng a bana ba mpa ga a tsenwe. It means if siblings quarrel, outsiders shouldn't interven, which is what the West and South Africa should heed.
Mbeki seems to understand this even if he is ridiculed. The comical translation of that proverb goes like this: Inner kickings of children of the same stomach should not be entered.
